TEXTURING A SCI-FI SUIT

For our main protagonist, I wanted to combine a cool-looking sci-fi suit with a realistic metahuman head. For the body, I downloaded a low-poly character model from the Unreal Engine Marketplace. However, I was not happy with the textures, which look good from a distance, but don’t hold up for close-up shots. So, I decided to give it a complete make-over in Substance Painter. Watch the if you want to see how it was done. This is not a step-by-step tutorial but a quick time-lapse of the whole process, with some explanations and tipps. If you have questions or want to learn some techniques in a more traditional tutorial style, let me know. And sorry for the audio quality, I need a better microphone for next time. 😉
